Park James

The lobby and rooms are gorgeous, and every staff member we dealt with, from the valets and front desk to housekeeping and the concierge, was top notch. The concierge answered text requests within minutes. The blackout curtains were also a highlight, floor to ceiling and very effective. But the hotel seems to put looks ahead of how things work. Our TV didn’t work, there was no microwave or complimentary breakfast, and parking wasn’t included. The Wi-Fi had no password, which raised security concerns. The barn-style bathroom door had a two-inch gap, so it offered no privacy and let smells spread through the room. Most of the mini fridge was taken up by alcohol, leaving very little room for our things. For a budget-conscious traveler, this isn’t a good fit. Everything felt like an upcharge, and fees and inclusions that have been standard at other hotels were unclear or showed up as unexpected charges. It’s a beautiful property with exceptional staff, but the stay didn’t match the price or our expectations. We won’t return.

We stayed over Thanksgiving weekend to see family, and the visit was incredible. Dinner at the hotel restaurant was the highlight. Everything was delicious, and the staff were friendly and attentive to our requests. The rooms were gorgeous and clean, and the front desk staff were amazing. The location was convenient and just a short drive from SFO. A 10/10 experience!

My wife and I had never been to the area, and we were visiting for the SB. We wanted a convenient hotel that wasn’t incredibly overpriced like places in SF, and Park James turned out to be a lovely surprise. It’s a hidden gem in Menlo Park. The front desk and GM were friendly and so accommodating. The rooms were clean, thoughtfully designed, and well laid out, and it was easy to drive to nearby towns. We’d highly recommend it and would stay again if we’re in town.

I stopped by this boutique hotel for a cocktail and tried a dessert the bartender recommended. The service was exceptional, and Eddie made me feel welcome and right at home. Everyone I spoke with was genuinely kind. Thanks so much for the hospitality. I’ll definitely come back and stay for a weekend so I can enjoy everything the Park James Hotel has to offer.
