We left and drove home because the music was so loud, even though we'd planned to stay overnight with our baby after a day at Whitetail ski resort and some of the little pubs and taverns in town. I honestly don't think they should book rooms on nights with live music. The staff were very friendly, and the food at Stoner's on the Square was delicious, but right now I wouldn't recommend staying at the hotel.

We had the king room on the third floor of this historic home. It felt comfortable and looked like home, just as you'd expect. There are a few shops and restaurants within walking distance. Parking is on the street, and you need to feed the meter every two hours from 9 to 6, except Wednesday and Sunday when it's free. The owners are great and very responsive.

The friendly staff and convenient location were positives, but the noise and bed made for a miserable night. Music from the hotel's room was extremely loud and carried on well past midnight, so getting any rest was nearly impossible. I understand hotels may have entertainment, but this was too loud and went on too late. The mattress was uncomfortable too, with worn springs I could feel poking through. I expected more from a hotel of this caliber. I hope management takes this seriously and makes improvements. I wouldn't recommend staying here unless these problems are addressed.

We came to the area for an evening wedding in Warfordsburg, PA, after a 4.5-hour drive, and didn't want to drive home late. There weren't any places to stay in Warfordsburg. The closest hotels were 20-40 minutes away in Berkely Springs, WV, or here in Mercersburg, PA. Stoner's looked like a more interesting choice than a chain: a few rooms above a tavern and restaurant in a historic building in a tiny town. It also looked nicer and cost less. We were glad we chose it. Our third-floor studio suite had a sitting and TV room, plus a separate bedroom with a very comfortable king bed. The room and bathroom were clean, with plenty of towels. We ate and had drinks in the tavern downstairs, listened to live music, and chatted with locals who seemed to enjoy the place. We met Mark, the owner, and thanked him for arranging the early check-in I'd requested. Check-in and checkout were easy, and communication before arrival was good. The food and drinks at the tavern were good and fairly inexpensive. The next day we had lunch at Stoner's On The Square, another bar and restaurant across the Square owned by the same couple, and it was outstanding too. We wanted to stay another night but had obligations at home. We plan to return to Mercersburg for a quiet, relaxing weekend here. If you're near Mercersburg, PA, it's a friendly hotel and tavern worth experiencing.

The service was friendly. I got fried pickles and a brat to go.
