The Oliver Lodge

The host made everything easy and fun. We had easy parking and a grocery store nearby, plus a deck and a boathouse with tables and lounge chairs. The water toys, including a paddle board and canoe, were a nice bonus. From the South Wing we could wade straight into the lake and enjoy waterfront views in both directions. It was an idyllic stay.

Denise was wonderful about making sure we had what we needed. She was ready to help quickly if anything came up, and shared plenty of information about nearby shopping and things to do. When a snow storm hit, they were able to let us stay an extra night since nobody else was checking in. They also provided lanterns in case we lost power and showed us how to flush the toilets during an outage. We stayed in the North Wing at Oliver Lodge for a quiet winter getaway and had an amazing king weekend. We watched bald eagles fly over the river and dive for food, spotted common mergansers on the water, and saw a mink along the shore, with its tracks all over the property. No otters this time, though the manager said they’re out there, so maybe next visit. It was a great time, and I honestly hope to return soon.

Denise, the property manager, looked after us all week. We rented the A frame house and had our own private island, with incredible views, crystal clear 77-degree water, and plenty of peaceful relaxation. Just an incredible summer vacation spot.

There was plenty of space for our whole wedding party, and the lodge was clean, cozy, and charming. It’s a bit far out of town, though that’s part of the appeal, and the Lake views are beautiful. The owner helped us get a bonfire going by the water. Kayaks, canoes, and paddle boats are available too.
