DoubleTree by Hilton Phoenix Mesa

I’m in a balcony junior suite and really like it. The front desk staff were friendly, and this place is great. I’m definitely coming back. We’re planning to enjoy the amenities, including the pool, tomorrow.

The location is great and the staff were nice. The room itself could have been cleaned with more care, though it wasn’t disgusting. The beds are directly below the air intake and AC, so when it runs it’s loud and blows air right at your face. That made it hard to sleep.

We spent four days here in several rooms for our daughter’s graduation party, and the spacious, quiet, modern rooms made the trip more enjoyable. Parking was reasonably priced, and the hotel sits near major freeways, so it was easy to get around. Before booking, I called several places looking for a reasonably priced venue and roomy accommodations. Some never called back promptly, while others wanted too much for the rooms, the venue, or both. Amy Ortiz stood out for the options, pricing, expertise, and customer service. She guided us to the Executive lounge, which worked out beautifully. The staff were great from arranging room locations through check-in, especially Steve at the front desk. We’ll stay here again.

The room was comfortable, the bed was good, everything worked, and the service was solid. It was mostly clean, though the bathroom walls were a bit grimy. The shared areas look and smell old, and the property is showing its age. There’s no breakfast included, but plenty of nearby places to eat. For a visit to downtown Mesa, AZ, it’s a good choice and probably one of the nicer places around that part of town.
