Motel 7 By Oyo Near Phoenix Airport

I had paid in full for two nights through Agoda, but when I arrived that evening they turned me away because they were overbooked. They couldn't process a refund either. This isn't a three-star hotel. It's a shabby, run-down, cheap place, and I wouldn't call it family friendly. I should've listened to the bad reviews already posted.

The place is really clean and friendly, and there's a very cool guy running it. Ask him something and he'll answer or point you in the right direction. They're still renovating and improving things, and it's way better than it used to be. Staff are helpful, too. At checkout they don't bang on the door like they own the place. They'll call as a courtesy, and if life happens and you need another hour or two, they'll let you stay for a fee. When I look for a room, I compare the price with what I'll get, and here I don't think you'll regret what you pay. I feel sure you or your special guest won't be disappointed or wish you'd stayed elsewhere. If I'm in Mesa or nearby, I'll book Motel 7 again if it's available. Honestly, my only joking complaint is that I might've liked to see the kind of dramatic cigarette break scene you get elsewhere. Have a blessed weekend, y'all.

They're remodeling, but the way the staff treated me was the best part. I felt like family. Come support this business, they have the best staff.

This is still a work in progress, but Hotel 7 is finally getting the updates it needed. The renovations have brought a fresher look, cleaner rooms, and better amenities. It used to have a rough reputation, but things are turning around. Worth another look if you gave up on it before.
