The sea bass at dinner was amazing, and we had a wonderful meal before staying the night. It’s a small, cozy place, with about 12 rooms upstairs. Think of it as a bed and breakfast without the breakfast. Old Town Square is an easy five-minute walk away.

Justin, the manager, came over for a chat and gave us a complimentary dessert since it was our first visit. Such a nice finish to an incredible meal. Jessica was kind and attentive, and the food and service were excellent. The Bloody Mary was fabulous too. We’ll be back!

The filet was great for its temperature, even though we were sitting under a heat lamp. We came in from out of town on a business trip with a party of seven, and I could tell the waitress, server, and cook were unhappy we arrived at 7:45. The food was decent, but only lukewarm and not great. On our way out, local police were clearing a building, so we saw that happening.

Nice atmosphere and top-level service from Estes, I think. We stopped for lunch on the way back to El Paso. The red chile enchilada with arrachera steak was spot-on New Mexico style, and the green chile patty melt smelled and tasted classic NM. I’ll definitely return!

The location worked well for visiting the Mesilla historical district, with lots of little shops nearby and Walmart and Walgreens a short drive away. Our room had custom Southwestern tile in the bathroom and handy climate control with a remote. The staff were cheerful and seemed to love their jobs, and the service was exceptional. The food was excellent too, and the chefs could accommodate many food allergies.
