I slept really well, which counted for a lot. Still, the fridge didn’t work because its outlet was out, the toilet was hard to flush, and the bathroom walls were disgusting and needed washing. If you just need a clean bed and a roof away from the casino scene, this place can work. Looking back, though, I’d spend the extra $10-15 and stay at Best Western or somewhere else.

The shower was kind of lame, but the towels were clean and the toilet was spotless. The beds were clean and comfortable, and I felt safe enough to leave the sheets on instead of putting my own on, like I usually feel I have to at other 2* hotels.

We got in at 3:30 am, and I was so tired that I left my credit card on the counter. The gentleman called me later that morning and kindly sent it out the same day. Thank you very much. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable.

The pool was empty, though with water scarce these days, I can understand that. Desert Palms worked well for us since we only needed somewhere to sleep and didn’t want the casino atmosphere or its extra $10 resort fee. Casino hotels advertised rooms for $27, but they’re attached to the casino, so there’s that hidden charge. Desert Palms is close enough if you do want to gamble. The room was charming and clean, with clean sheets, good water pressure, and both heat and AC. Staff were friendly, there were lovely roses around the parking lot, and it’s a nice stop when you’re passing through.

It’s a small, quiet place with reasonable prices, and I’ll definitely make it my usual spot whenever I’m in Mesquite. The place is old and not fancy, but it’s very clean. Rooms have nice TVs, fridges, and microwaves.
