Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Metairie (New Orleans), LA

The hotel itself was clean and nice, and the staff were friendly, but I was very disappointed that I didn’t get the room I’d paid for. I’d reserved and prepaid for a two queen-bed room, and checked with the desk before taking the key cards that it was the right type. When we got there, the beds were standard full size. Later, I noticed the fridge wasn’t cold because ice had built up over its inside back. I let the front desk know, and they said someone could look in the morning. I scraped the ice off myself so I could use a cold fridge.

The front desk is amazing, nice and professional. We’ve stayed here before, but breakfast was terrible this time. They ran out of oatmeal packets, and the fruit needs more variety since the apples were mushy. The service staff aren’t nice. I was accused of using my hand instead of the toggles, then they realized I wasn’t. It felt like they were looking for customers to catch doing something wrong. Why? For better sleep, the room also needs softer sheets. Most hotels take pride in their sheets and pillows.

Most of the service has been awesome, and I’ve stayed here several times for work over the past three weeks. Kylie, though, has been the worst service experience. She clearly doesn’t like or want her job, and her attitude is a disgrace to customer service. She even said, “Tell my manager it won’t matter.” If it were up to me, I’d address this. I’m also going to email the board of directors for Country Inn and Suites and Radisson hotels.

The pool sits in the middle of the rooms, and the pool and room doors are secured with a gate. Rooms are clean and the AC works fine. Breakfast is really basic and could be better, which is why I took off the fifth star. Still, I recommend this hotel for a New Orleans stay.
