I have to give Miss Rae credit too. The steakhouse was busy when my kids and I went down, but she found us a table without making us wait and made sure we had everything we needed. The ribeye was so delicious. I brought my children this time, and Mrs. Marlana made sure we had everything we needed. If we needed anything, she took care of it right away. She’s an exceptional host, really cares about her guests, and goes above and beyond. My stays here are always the best.

Food choices are limited, and a lot of places close early or during the week. Housekeeping also never came once during our three-day stay. I asked for an ADA accessible room when booking because I use a wheelchair but can walk some. The bathtub was very large, but it wasn’t accessible. When an alarm went off in the morning, we evacuated down four flights of stairs. Only afterward did staff tell us it was a false alarm. Nobody helped us, or even thought to notify someone in an ADA room who uses a wheelchair and walker that they didn’t need to risk their safety on those stairs. Don’t waste your money here. Stay somewhere else and drive over if you want to visit the casino.

The casino card we got at the counter didn’t work on any of the four slot machines we tried. We went upstairs and went to sleep instead. We’ll take our money somewhere else, where we aren’t treated rudely and can actually play the slots. Food was another letdown: at 5pm only one restaurant was open, with plates costing $49 and up, while the grill at the other restaurant was closed. We had to get in the car and drive somewhere else to eat. The problem started at check-in. My husband and I had booked online that same day, the only time we could get away, and were excited to visit. We arrived around 10:30am. Cindy told us we couldn’t check in that early and that our type of room wouldn’t be ready until 3pm. We politely asked her to call if it became ready sooner, but she rudely said they couldn’t make outgoing calls. When we asked whether we could call to check, she handed us a paper with the hotel number. We went to eat in Paducah, then called around 1:30pm. A different, nice woman answered and said the room was ready. When we returned, we spoke to her, but Cindy came over and announced there would be a $15 early check-in fee. I asked if the charge applied to everyone; she said it did. Nobody had told us about the fee online or over the phone. We paid, then saw Cindy check someone else in without charging them. She was rude from the moment I walked in and has no customer service skills. She doesn’t belong at the front desk.

We couldn’t get a room because the hotel was fully booked, so we stayed elsewhere after dinner here. We’d pulled off the road when heavy rain made it hard to continue our long drive home, planning to rest and set out again the next day. Tara at the bar was incredibly pleasant, attentive, and went out of her way for us. The food was delicious too. I had the ribs, my partner had crab legs, and I’d definitely recommend them. Tara turned our day around, and we’re so glad we stopped in.
