Lennox Hotel South Beach

The pool was lovely to swim in, with water like a warm bath, and the poolside bar and bartender were wonderful. The restaurant was delicious, and the bed was very comfortable. The shower had good pressure and plenty of space, and the minibar had a nice selection, though we didn't use it. The elevator worked when we arrived but not after that, though the stairs weren't too bad. The men who greeted us were the best, and it was nice seeing them again the next evening. The daytime hostess was okay, just less friendly. We chose the hotel for its distinctive Miami feel, and the vibe was exactly right. We'll definitely be back.

The pool was small but elegant and peaceful, which was the best part. The rest fell short of the quality I expect, and Hilton should review the property's practices. In our first room, the toilet was broken and the sink clogged. We called it in and left for a few hours after telling the desk, but that night both problems were still there. We had to insist on a room change, and the second room's sink was clogged too. We didn't report it because maintenance had used a plunger on the first sink, which was very disgusting. Housekeeping never swept the floor, a problem at a beach hotel, and we had to ask for towels the housekeepers hadn't replaced. I was also told I couldn't eat a deli sandwich in the lobby or pool area and had to take it to my room. The desk staff were surprisingly rude. We didn't deal with them after check-in, but saw them being downright mean to other guests. There are too many better choices for us to return.

The rooms aren't anything special, but the art deco look suited what we needed. We had a great vacation here with my daughter, and everyone on staff was so friendly. Service was excellent from beginning to end, and they went out of their way to make sure we had everything. The location worked really well: the beach is walkable, with private access, lounge chairs, towels, and food service, and restaurants, shops, and Lincoln road are nearby too. We even walked to Ocean Ave, about 15-20 minutes away. We'd stay here again.

For the conference, it was an easy walk to the Miami Convention Center, and the staff were friendly and very helpful. Breakfast at the restaurant was excellent. I came in a day early at the last minute and first had a basic king room that felt small. The next day they moved me right into a much roomier double near the pool. You have to ask for an iron or steamer, and there are only a few hangers, so bring some if you need to hang clothes. It's close to lots of restaurants, and when I needed a ride to the car rental place up the road, they took me and my luggage in the golf cart. I'll stay here again when I'm in Miami.
