Sky City At Ocean Drive South Beach

Ocean Drive is crowded, especially on weekends and at night, and it’s definitely not somewhere to go for peace and quiet. But that busy energy is part of the appeal. Music, people walking, cars and bikes passing by, and something happening at all hours make it feel like Miami Beach. The Art Deco buildings, palms, and beach just across the street give it a mix of old Miami style and modern buzz. There are loads of restaurants, bars, and cafés, though prices run higher than average because it’s such a tourist spot. Lively, colorful, and iconic, it’s a place you have to see at least once if you’re in Miami.

Take a walk from one end of Ocean Drive to the other. There are bars, restaurants, great hotels, and the scenery is always spectacular, colorful, and right by the beach. I do wish some of the artsy shops that were around before the pandemic would come back.

There’s plenty to do at South Beach, especially along Ocean Drive, with good entertainment, great views, and all kinds of food and atmosphere for every age during the day. The beach has outdoor showers, a nice trail away from traffic, and lots of access points within an easy walk of Ocean Drive. There’s also an outdoor gym with plenty of “workout machines.” The public bathrooms looked like they were cleaned daily from what I could see. Police were around too, but their presence didn’t feel overbearing, more like they were there to protect and serve. It’s an amazing time.

My family and I had a great time at the beach. We rode bikes on ocean drive too, and boy, that was a blast.
