The Fritz Hotel

The room was very clean, and if you’re after beachside value without fussing over every detail, this could work. The rooftop pool was nice, with plenty of loungers. There was a gas grill up there, and it looked like there may once have been a bar and barbecues. A restaurant on the first floor also seemed to have been closed for a while. I’ve admired the place on earlier South Beach visits, so I was disappointed by a few issues. The road along the strip was closed when I arrived, so I parked and had to bring my luggage from 7th Street. The front desk gentleman was friendly enough. My spacious king suite had an ocean-view balcony with a table and two chairs, and the bed was very comfortable. But the restaurant to the north played canned music loudly, and my balcony door wouldn’t lock. A staff member jammed it with a length of pipe. There’s no on-site maintenance or valet parking. The elevator is VERY slow. The safe in the walk-in closet mattered to me, and the HVAC worked well. The suite also had a huge kitchenette and sitting room, pull-out sofa bed, full-size refrigerator, dishwasher, sink, coffee pot, and microwave. Some Art Deco details remain, including what looked like the original marble bathroom counter and ceiling light fixtures.

We stayed November 13-17, 2025, for my 50th birthday. I’ve been to Miami many times and stayed in plenty of suites and hotels, but in my opinion this is the best one. The location is excellent, and you can walk everywhere. The hotel is immaculate and smells amazing, and housekeeping does a wonderful job. From booking through our arrival and check-in, Manuel and Fernando were phenomenal. Their customer service, energy, laughs, and spirit meant so much. Prince, it was lovely meeting you and going over the information. Marci is so gentle and gives excellent service. Keep up the amazing work, and may you all be blessed in abundance. We’ll definitely stay again when we visit, it feels like a home away from home.

The desk manager was friendly and great, and we got an upgrade to the third floor. The apartment was a good size, though it could use some TLC. My only issue is a $25 charge after I left, with no explanation, so I’ve asked for it back.

I stayed from midday Thursday until Saturday morning. The staff were attentive, helpful, and very quick to respond. The hotel is clean, comfortable, and friendly, and quieter than I expected with all the nearby restaurants. It’s right at the start of the strip, within walking distance of everything.
