The Shoreline Suites

The location was the only good thing for us. The stay was so stressful and disappointing that it completely ruined the holiday we had planned, and I’d urge travelers to think twice before booking. The trouble started at check-in. Booking showed a final price with taxes and fees included, but we were told we had to pay another $31 per day as a “resort fee.” It was presented as mandatory, with no choice. Adding that hidden charge made it clear we could have stayed at a much more comfortable and reputable hotel for the same money. Rest was difficult. The street noise carried into the room, and every night the fire alarm went off several times throughout the hotel. Our room’s smoke detector made an extremely loud, piercing sound. It seemed to be triggered by guests smoking in their rooms. We also had serious concerns about the cleanliness of the bed linens. The physical conditions were unacceptable too: visible mold in the bathroom, dirty floors around the property, and a constant stale smell because the windows wouldn’t open. Some of the plumbing was in poor shape and partly broken.
