Seacoast Suites on Miami Beach

We felt safe walking around at night and loved the wonderful views. It's an easy walk to the beach and a beautiful boardwalk, with friendly staff, a good restaurant, and a handy little market on site. The building is old and dated, and the elevator moves slowly, but the stairs were a good way to get some extra steps in. For the price, I thought it was great.

The view was the only good thing here. The rooms were dirty, there was a roach we had to kill, and the kitchens had basically no cookware unless you were staying alone. The windows and balcony sliders wouldn't open, and the shower wouldn't drain. Each person was allowed one towel, but it had to be returned by 5 p.m., and you'd be charged if you lost the towel card. WiFi never worked for me, even after trying three usernames and passwords. Use your hotspot if you need a laptop for work. Staff weren't helpful with questions or complaints and just said they were sorry to hear it. For what we paid, this was absolutely not worth it. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

The young man running the tiki bar and beach service was warm and attentive, with great drinks and friendly service that made time at the beach more enjoyable. The housekeeping staff we met were kind and helpful despite what seemed like limited resources. The small shop downstairs also seemed more up to date than most of the other on-site spaces and had basic items. The oceanfront location is fantastic, with the beach and Miami attractions close by. Still, the stay didn't meet expectations for the price. The property feels very dated and neglected, with worn furniture, scratches, and wall damage. Cleanliness was a concern, including a roach in our unit. Towels were limited and took repeated requests, and the WiFi was so unreliable it was mostly unusable. It was often unclear how things worked, and understaffing and management decisions seemed to be behind several problems. Compared with other nearby rentals and hotels, the cost doesn't match the quality, communication, upkeep, or reliability of the amenities. This place has huge potential and an unbeatable location, and it may have been a much better choice years ago. Until maintenance, cleanliness, and basic amenities get real investment, and management brings the guest experience in line with the price, I'd hesitate to recommend Seacoast Miami Suites, especially for a trip with guests or a special occasion.

Our room was fine, but my son was hurt when a pool lounger collapsed onto his hand. The force split the wheel underneath in two. There was no first aid kit, and security eventually brought ice and bandages. He spent the day in the hospital, though I'm grateful his finger wasn't fractured. No manager came to check on him, and the accident report was filled out incorrectly. Other guests later told us they'd complained many times about the wooden loungers, apparently without success. Seacoast doesn't even want to cover the hospital copays. I wouldn't recommend it.
