The price was amazing, especially for a weekend with a special event, the college football national championship. The front desk and hotel staff were kind and flexible, and let us in two hours early so we could leave our bags. Checkout took about 30 seconds. The double room had plenty of space, and it was very clean and comfortable. It’s an airport hotel, so you know what you’re getting.

I was disappointed that I couldn’t get a shuttle to the hotel for my 9:30 PM arrival, since I’d picked it for the shuttle and breakfast. At check-in I asked to move to a higher floor for personal reasons tied to past experiences, but the clerk refused and didn’t seem to know how to deal with guests. The room, 114, had a damp, mildew-like smell and felt very humid. There was a creepy connecting door to a room with loud guests, which made me uneasy. I was scared all night, and my daughter couldn’t sleep because the person next door talked so loudly on the phone. We also heard shouting and doors slamming all night. The shower was dirty, and bugs crawled on my bags. My child screamed when roaches turned up all over the bed. I checked out much earlier than planned after seeing roaches on the bed and desk. As I rushed to the desk to check out, I spotted one on my fruit bowl and showed it to the staff. They had the nerve to offer me a 20% discount. Disappointed, dirty, and overpriced.

The room had what I needed for a short stop: a comfortable bed, clean bathroom, desk, fridge, and microwave. Everything worked as expected, and check-in and checkout were efficient. Don’t count on extra amenities or much personal attention. The free airport shuttle was quick and reliable, and the hotel is only a few minutes from the airport, which made my early flight or late arrival easier. The price was very reasonable for the location. Sleep Inn Miami Airport is a practical place to rest before or after a flight. It isn’t a luxury hotel or a vacation destination, but it’s clean, functional, and good value for a one or two night stay.

I was here for a work trip and couldn’t even take a shower. The shower had no hot water, while the sink water got boiling hot. The night manager said they couldn’t switch us because the policy supposedly doesn’t allow it once you’ve used the room in any way, since that would mean dirtying two rooms instead of one. After 11 o’clock, the new staff member came in and switched us without a problem. She had me check the shower before handing over the room, and it worked. But the room was still dirty: the shower, toilet, furniture, and microwave all needed cleaning. A working shower was the least I could expect. I had to give one star to post this, though I’d give none for the customer service. Also, if you see a young female staff member with purple highlights, watch out for her ignorant mouth. She’ll say they’re fully booked and have no rooms to help with, even with an empty parking lot. I took pictures and videos. Check your room carefully before doing or using anything.
