Flow Hotel Miami

Even after a full day flying from Chicago to miami with American Airlines and my luggage ending up on the wrong plane, I was greeted by a friendly face and checked in quickly at 1130pm instead of 1900 pm. I only had 12 hours there before my cruise, but I would definitely return and recommend a longer stay. Nash at the front desk was kind, personable, and professional at checkout, and went the extra mile for me. I really appreciated it. The hotel also stored my luggage, which helped with my later cruise check-in. The room was fabulous and spotless, with a great view and enough space to feel like a small apartment. There was a living area with a futon-style sofa, two chairs, and a70in television. The kitchen had a small dining table, an air fryer, microwave, induction burner stove, and full-size refrigerator. The bedroom had a king bed and two end tables. White fluffy robes were in the closet, the bathroom was nicely sized, and the nepresso coffeemaker was a nice touch. The Flow hotel has yoga class, a fitness center, grills, family art night, and even a bible study class. It's also in a great location, with restaurants, bars, stores, publix, and bayside mall an easy walk away. The perez museum, which I visited on an earlier trip, is nearby and has great exhibits. For the amenities, service, and location, this is a 5 star property, and the nightly price is on par with area hotels.

The pool and gym on the 10th floor are the best features, and the location is convenient for walking to restaurants and shops. The rooms are very minimalist, though, and the lobby is small. Staff were friendly, but didn't seem empowered to solve problems. Our toilet wouldn't flush, and the front desk couldn't handle it. They said maintenance was off duty at 4pm on Saturday. After several calls and getting angry, someone finally came after 10pm. The key fobs are RFID and seem like the cheap kind you can buy in bulk on Amazon, yet they make you acknowledge a $150 lost fob policy. That feels extremely predatory. The nightly resort fee also feels like a money grab, since this is an apartment building renting out open units, not a resort. Flow Miami charges a premium but wasn't helpful when we needed it. The paint and decor need updating too. This could be a really nice place if they improved customer service, provided the resort amenities they charge for, and stopped using what seemed like management dysfunction as a ready excuse.

The location worked perfectly for us, with a coffee shop and grocery store downstairs. Metrorail and Brightline are a ten minute walk away, and the free Metromover is even closer. Reception staff were always helpful. We spent three lovely days in a well equipped apartment on the 35th floor. The views were spectacular, the beds were comfortable, and the kitchen was good. There was plenty of hot water, good air con, and lovely bathrobes. The only drawback was noise from nearby fans when the balcony door was open. Be aware there's a compulsory $21 pd fee to use the pool and gym on level 10, whether you want those facilities or not.

Nash at the front desk was friendly, attentive, and helpful with everything I needed, including when I added another day to my stay. The rooms are spacious and gorgeous. I had a wonderful girls weekend here and can't wait to come back!
