I’ve heard negative comments about this hotel from business colleagues, so the difference on this visit really stood out. I’ve stayed here several times, and this was one of my best stays. The location is still excellent and the property is strong, but the service was the highlight. Alexis at the front desk was gracious, professional, and genuinely helpful when I arrived early. He helped while I waited, arranged breakfast and business center access, and eventually found me a very good room. Keisha, one of the property managers, was just as charming. Staff in both restaurants were friendly, attentive, and professional. Whatever management is doing seems to be working, and the team deserves credit.

We had a lovely corner room with huge windows overlooking Brickell. The natural light was great during the day, and the downtown view was beautiful at night. There was also a complimentary fruit dish and oversized Voss sparkling water in the room, a nice touch. Our three-day, two-night stay included complimentary buffet breakfast at Isabela’s. There was plenty of seating in the main dining room, plus a pleasant patio. The hotel is in an ideal spot in Brickell, within walking distance of Brickell City Centre and pretty much everything else. It has a more classic look than the modern, contemporary JW Marriott Marquis Miami, but it’s still a beautiful JW Marriott. For my birthday weekend staycation, my husband and I enjoyed it, no kids. We actually went to the Marquis first because we thought that was where we’d booked. They couldn’t find our reservation and said we were probably at JW Marriott Miami, six minutes away. DUDE!!! The names are super confusing. They should call JW Marriott Miami JW Marriott Brickell, since it’s right in the heart of Brickell.

The room was clean and modern, and the hotel is well placed for things to do on foot after getting off a cruise. The front desk worker was great and helped us check in early, which I appreciated. Some shared areas could use work, especially the lounge on the 21st floor and the other common spaces. The woman checking the minibar kept knocking repeatedly instead of waiting for us to open the door, then came in. That needs improvement.

It was New Year’s Eve, and my family got complimentary lounge access and breakfast. I’d booked two rooms using points, but they welcomed me just as warmly as when I pay the regular rate. I wish all Marriotts followed the same standards. If you’re staying in Miami Brickell, check in here.

Jessica at the front desk noticed my birth date and sent up a card and dessert to celebrate, which was so thoughtful. Everyone I met was friendly and helpful. The two-night stay was lovely, and the rooms were clean and well maintained, though the decor isn’t the usual modern style.
