Quality Inn Michigan City South

The workers were friendly, and the location was good. I also liked having a whirlpool tub in the room. But the room smelled like weed despite being labeled non-smoking, and there were toenails in the carpet, dead bugs, and lingerie left behind by a previous guest. The TV kept shutting itself off, and its buttons didn’t work. You could hear whole conversations from the lobby, and the AC never got very cool. Not a great stay.

The room was pristinely clean, and the housekeeping staff were incredibly friendly. I watched one housekeeper hurry down the hall to help a guest open his door while he was carrying breakfast plates and coffee, so he wouldn’t drop anything. The front desk staff were friendly and attentive too. The hotel itself is an older place with no elevator, a running toilet, a bathroom fan that sounded like a goose in a jet engine, and tiny postage stamp sized pillows. The employees here are Five Star.

I haven’t had a hotel stay this good in a long time. Everyone was so welcoming, and the restaurant connected to the hotel was fabulous. The Indian food was the best I’ve ever had. I’d go back if I’m ever in the area again!

I came from Ohio after setting up a festival for work and showed up ready to check in, only to find no room available for me. I’d accidentally booked for the next day, so I asked if they could cancel it and let someone else use the room. I needed somewhere that night, not the following one. The man said he couldn’t cancel and told me to contact the booking website. The website then told me to contact the property. Because they refused to cancel, I’m now being charged for a no show. There was very little sympathy for my situation, and I was left without a place to stay that night.
