Peggy at the front desk was a huge help to my friends and me. We were about 30 minutes from the hotel when snowy roads forced us to stop driving through Vermont late at night. She suggested the safest routes and nearby gas stations that were still open, then gave us breakfast and coffee recommendations for the morning. She was the best.

I checked in at 2:00 am and couldn't get a few extra hours in the room to rest. Youth hockey teams were staying there, and from 7:00 to 8:45 am, kids ran through the halls yelling and banging on doors. The front desk did nothing, and most of them checked out around 8:45. I won't recommend this hotel to any groups I know traveling in the area.

The room was dated but clean, the bed was comfortable, and everything worked. For the price, it was about what I expected. The pool was closed, and there's no continental breakfast, though there is a restaurant on site. I was satisfied and would return.

It's close to the center of town, with comfortable rooms at good prices. There's no free breakfast or coffee, which was disappointing. The woman serving breakfast was grumpy and unfriendly. There were a lot of college kids getting food at once, apparently because of a tennis tournament at Middlebury, so I can understand a busy rush. Still, she stayed unfriendly after they left, and I would have thought large groups were expected given the bookings. The person who checked me in was great, which helped balance things out.

The manager on duty over Valentines weekend was threatening, unkind, unprofessional, and not welcoming. He made up rules as he went along. The hotel didn't feel family friendly, and communication was poor.
