Comfort Inn & Suites – Harrisburg Airport – Hershey South

We stayed overnight before our flight and left our car at the hotel. When we called for the shuttle after returning, they said they couldn't pick us up, leaving us stranded and forcing us to take a very expensive Uber to get back to our vehicle. They knew what day we were coming back and should have called ahead to say they couldn't honor their commitment. They didn't seem to have a problem keeping the money we'd paid.

I’ve been frustrated by the poor communication and weak leadership from General Manager Mike. There needs to be clearer direction, accountability, and open communication, and those areas need a lot of work right now.

The location worked really well, with food, fuel, and a pharmacy close by. The room was clean and comfortable, and the price was about average for this chain.

I was in town for a college training and had booked five nights, but after only three nights I came back from training on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. to find the room completely turned over and all my things removed. My key card still worked. The desk attendant said someone had checked out of my room that morning and the hotel was full. I told him I was the only person assigned to and staying in that room, then asked if I could stay that night since I live four hours away. He said no, they were fully booked. He had no idea where my belongings were at first, called the General Manager, and asked me to wait. Then he handed over my things, all bagged up. The General Manager arrived about 15 minutes later. She never apologized and just repeated that someone had checked out of my room, giving me the name of a man I didn’t know. When I asked how someone not registered to the room could check out, she didn’t answer. The hotel never called to ask why my things were still there. I asked what their process was for removing a guest’s belongings, including how many people handled them and whether they made an inventory. She said they usually put things in her office and don’t keep an inventory. I was eventually told I could go back to “my room.” Since I’d supposedly been checked out that morning but my key still worked, I asked whether any other keys could open the door. She said no. That was it. Someone handled all my belongings, including my toothbrush, without my permission. This should have been handled much better.
