Scottish Inns - Middletown

The bed was all right, and I was only there to sleep for one night. The place looked like a double wide trailer. They give you a scan card to enter the building, but the door doesn't close all the way, so it stays unlocked. The bathroom towels were damp, with what looked like rust stains. The room had a smell, maybe from heavy duty cleaner. I stayed dressed in my hoodie, sweats, and socks.

I slept well thanks to the comfortable bed and the quiet atmosphere. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the location suited what I needed. My room was clean and well maintained. I had a fantastic stay at this motel.

The bugs overshadowed every good thing about this motel. The rooms were decent for the low price, but they weren't clean. While I was sitting around, a huge hairy spider crawled across the floor, and my brother and I saw two more spiders during the stay. There were flies and gnats too. Worst of all, what I think were beetles crawled out from behind the bed and onto us while we sat there. We found about three. I also woke up bitten pretty badly by something, most likely bed bugs. My arms are covered in bites. I strongly recommend not staying here unless you're desperate, which is why we stayed. I'm quite sure the two managers clean the rooms without hired staff, and the rooms aren't being cleaned thoroughly enough. They need housekeepers and an extermination team after all the bugs we found.

The room was spacious, clean, and nicely decorated, and I felt welcome as soon as I arrived. The staff went out of their way to make the stay comfortable and enjoyable. I had an exceptional experience at Scottish Inns and will definitely return on my next visit to the city.
