Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Middletown

The only person you ever see working is fabian!!!! From management down, this hotel has gone downhill. All summer, megan just takes pictures of guests and talks about them. The rooms and hallways are always dirty, like they sweep the junk out of the rooms into the hallway and leave it there. People complain about noise all kinds of night, and say workers go into their rooms and steal things. Very very poorly run. They let the people from honors stay in the lobby all day, running in and out.

We came with our three small kids and ten other families, and every single family had similar horror stories. Over ten families ended up fleeing to other hotels. The first room had sticky linoleum, stains everywhere, and a bathroom sink that looked like it had been through several wars, so I asked to move. The second had two puddles of mystery liquid nowhere near the fridge, loose change and clothing tags on the floor, and long black scuff marks. On our way out, a man was crouched by the main entrance, collecting and smoking old cigarette butts. We nearly hit him with the door, and my kids now think hotel guests live outside. The chemical smell hit us as soon as we walked in. Fabuloso and bleach were so strong it could've stripped paint, like someone tried to clean with a chemical attack. It didn't smell clean, it smelled like a cover-up. What should have been a weekend getaway turned into a chemical warfare experiment, and we may need therapy. Unsafe, unsanitary, and unfit for anyone who values oxygen, children, or peace of mind. Unless you're studying what happens when bleach meets despair, avoid this hotel like the plague it's trying to disinfect.

Santiago helped me out and was warm, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful. He went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable, and kindly filled me in on the surrounding area and amenities. The rooms were very clean, and the whole place felt inviting and pleasant. Wonderful place and people. I'll absolutely stay here again.

The person who checked me in at the front desk was very nice. But after staying at many Microtels, I found this one unclean. The hall carpets were bunched up and dirty, and the stairway was dirty too. The side entrance had trash and cigarette butts around it.
