Holiday Inn Express and Suites Tampa East - Ybor C

The hotel itself is clean, the rooms are spacious and in good shape, and the service is very nice. Getting rideshares to tourist spots can get pricey, so having a car or rental seems like the better option. I wouldn't recommend walking around the area at night. If you're taking a rideshare, wait in the lobby until it arrives.

The location is a plus, and it was quiet enough for a good night's sleep. The hotel felt clean, modern, and comfortable, with spacious, well-kept rooms and really comfy beds to relax in after a long day. Staff were welcoming and friendly at both check-in and checkout. Good value for the price, and I'd definitely return to Holiday Inn Express Tampa East - Ybor City.

For a quick stop, all we really needed was breakfast, a shower, and somewhere to sleep. The rooms were updated and clean, but my parents' shower had low pressure and only cold water. My mom went to the front desk that evening, and they said maintenance would come at 10 a.m. the next day, after we'd already left. It seemed odd that nobody was available overnight. They said they'd call her the next day to make it right. I waited a week before writing because I wanted to speak directly with management and give them a chance, but nobody contacted us. We chose Holiday Inn Express because breakfast is usually good, but this one was awful. The breakfast worker didn't seem to care, garbage was overflowing, and they were running out of everything. There were no famous cinnamon rolls, and the sausage was like hockey pucks. I planned to make an egg and sausage biscuit, but there was no sausage. She said five minutes. Fifteen minutes later, the sausage arrived, but then the eggs and biscuits were gone. I gave up and tried pancakes, but there was no syrup or forks. She didn't seem to try to fix any of it. I also told the front desk, and nothing changed. Overall, the staff put in very little effort.

The neighborhood felt a little rough, but the hotel itself was clean and pleasant, and the shuttle to the port was just what we needed. Danaasia at the front desk was so kind and helped us sort out transportation problems. Michael, our shuttle driver, also made a great impression with his knowledge of the area and friendly manner. We really appreciated the hospitality.
