Best Western Plus Midland Suites

I felt uncomfortable and unsafe during my stay. Staff openly spoke badly about guests in public areas, which showed little respect for their privacy. A man at the front desk also harassed my boyfriend and made us feel very uneasy. He even threatened to share private things he had seen or knew about us as guests. I found that unacceptable and felt violated. Guests should be able to trust that their private information won’t be used against them or discussed by staff. After this experience, I wouldn’t recommend the hotel. Respect, privacy, and professionalism didn’t seem to matter here.

We’ve been Best Western members for years and are usually happy with the rooms, which here were pretty standard for a Best Western Plus. But we couldn’t get a luggage cart at night or the next morning. Staff said they were all in use and couldn’t say when one might come back. We didn’t see any for over 12 hours, so we’re pretty sure staff were using them or there weren’t any at all. After days on the road, we expect to have a basic cart available to move our things between the room and car within 10-15 minutes. This needs to be fixed for future guests. A basic amenity was missing.

The place was old, dirty, and smelly, and the TV didn’t work. The second shift staff member was rude. I asked at check-in to have my room cleaned, but they forgot. Never again.

Please stop using harsh cleaning fragrances for fumigation. My hair and all my belongings smelled awful when I got home, and it’s really hard to get that odor out of things, especially dry-clean-only clothes.
