Super 8 by Wyndham Midland

The room was number 209. The toilet was dirty, and some kind of bugs ran across the shower floor. The desk chair looked like it came from a dump, with its fake vinyl peeling off. Hall carpets seemed like they hadn’t been vacuumed for weeks. Behind the property, old box vans were crashed into the fence, leaving barely enough room to drive around them, and there were piles of old bricks and other junk beside the hotel. It was a mess for over $80. I should’ve asked for a refund. I meant to take pictures before leaving in the morning, but people were around and I didn’t want to aggravate anyone. This place is a disgrace to any Wyndham property.

The room and bathroom both smelled like pee, there was no tissue, and cracks ran through the walls. I found spiders on the bed and pillows, and the hallway reeked of weed and cigarettes. When my companion and I asked for a refund after only 30 minutes, they refused. They said the rooms were well cared for, had just been sprayed for bugs, and told us to take a picture if we saw more. I was scared and clutching my pearls. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. I'd rather sleep outside with the animals. This is outrageous, and they need to improve the hotel.

I was here for three nights while relocating for work, and the place was full of cockroaches. The shower drain already had trash and hair in it when we arrived. On the first night, the room smelled moldy. Then about $50 worth of groceries and household items disappeared from my room, including canned food, sugar, oil, and pans. I'd brought them from eight hours away to prepare for moving into my house. The front desk didn't know what happened, so they put me on the DND list. I also left a note asking housekeeping not to enter, but it was thrown away. They came in again and rummaged through my clothes. I was furious and tried calling management several times, and went to the front desk when she was supposed to be there, but never saw her. I've never stayed somewhere so nasty and careless. Find somewhere else, or sleep in your car, if you want to keep your things.

The room feels comfortable and homey, and I feel safe staying here. I do wish the Super 8 or its owner would install a doorbell with a flashing light for when someone, like the manager or housekeeping, knocks. Sometimes my dog doesn't bark to let me know.
