The staff were kind and helped us move rooms, and the pool and hot tub seemed well cared for. But the room had a rough start: it was very hot because the air conditioning wasn't working, and there was hair on the bathroom floor and a brown mark on the curtain that looked really unpleasant. The beds and pillows were hard to get comfortable on, and the shower pressure was weak. Breakfast was fine, just nothing special. With the cleanliness and comfort issues, we wouldn't book here again.
A good base for seeing the area by motorcycle. The hotel sits at Millersburg's south edge, with routes to Berlin and Walnut Creek on Rt 39, Mt Hope via Rd 241, and Coshocton a little farther south. There are places to eat and shop nearby, some within walking distance, plus more shops and pubs about a 5 minute drive into Millersburg. My room was fresh, very clean, quiet, and had a comfortable bed. No USB ports, so bring an adaptor for charging. The staff I met were friendly and knew the area well. It's a well maintained place, and of the four Choice properties I've stayed at in the area, this is one of the excellent ones. My waffle making still needs work, though other guests made theirs like pros.
The bed was comfortable, and the room looked clean, but it smelled strongly of stale smoke and something else I couldn't identify. The pillows were very flat, and the breakfast was just okay. The staff were friendly and professional. Also, the doors slam loudly and need soft closers or rubber.
The room was #112, and our stay was September 25-September 30. We only booked Comfort Inn Millersburg because the Holiday Inn Express next door was full. At check-in, we were told the linens would be changed every 3 days, but they weren't. The beds weren't made daily either. One top sheet already had a visible blood stain when we arrived. We let it go that first night because it was late, expecting housekeeping to notice it the next morning. Instead, the sheet stayed, the beds were still unmade, and the trash cans were overflowing. When we took them to the desk, Lauren emptied them and put the bags back, saying housekeeping was short-staffed. The beds still weren't made, and Lauren offered to give us sheets so we could change them ourselves. The sheets were finally replaced before our last night, but one had another blood stain. Later, the full bins we left by the door were emptied but not returned to their places. The shower was never cleaned. There was hair in the shower and sink, and wet, soggy soap at the bottom of the shower, so we had to ask for more. Moths flew around the room every day, and there was a huge spider in the bathroom. We wiped up water from the floor with a towel, and it came up black. Popcorn kernels were still there too, and my white socks turned black walking from the bed to the bathroom. When we asked if anything could be done to make up for the stay, we were told nothing could be done. We are extremely disappointed and won't stay at a Comfort Inn again. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Cynthia Gehringer Luzanne Cordero
I had just started a 4 day stay at the Comfort Inn in Millersburg, Ohio. I'm in the last stages of heart and lung failure and am a hospice patient. Before leaving room 205 for a few hours, I photographed my medication under the pillows for my safety. When we returned, the bed had been remade and all my medications were out and lined up. I was shocked. I demanded to speak with the maid and manager because the bed should not have been touched. I used to work as a maid at a local motel, and for stays of several days we weren't supposed to enter or handle things left on the bed. I don't know what was gone through or which maid did it. Manager Amy said that maid had worked there for several years, but that doesn't address my concern. She also said we could leave then, though we stayed the full 4 days. The next day, October 10, the elevator stopped working. My 74 year old mother, who is also in the last stages of life and has back injuries, my legally blind 89 year old stepfather, and I had to climb two flights of stairs to retrieve the rest of our belongings. We asked for help bringing a few bags down, but the manager wasn't there. I asked the front desk girls, and they said the manager had told them not to help us because of the incident with the maid. This was very unprofessional and disturbing. I also saw the manager and staff outside getting stoned in view of guests. Take it to the side and be discreet, rather than doing that in front of customers. This is not a 5 star Comfort Inn. To the owner of the Comfort Inn in Millersburg, please look into this and change the protocol. Staff should stay out of rooms and maids should be retrained. This is a lawsuit waiting to happen.
