Sleek Modern 1 BR Loft Theater District

The front desk staff were the one bright spot, friendly and helpful. Still, this Hilton property fell short of what I expect. The parking garage was extremely tight, and it was inconvenient that Hilton cards couldn't be used to pay for parking. One elevator was out of service, while the others made noises that seemed unsafe and led to long waits. Hallways had stained carpet and worn, outdated wallpaper, and the whole property needs a modern update. Our room was spacious but very dated, with visible door damage, cracked and peeling wallpaper, worn furniture, and an uncomfortable bed. Most concerning was a carpet covering a hole in the floor right in the main walkway in front of the bed. I won't stay at this property again.

The price was right, and the downtown location was great. We tried the indoor pool, but it wasn't heated and felt a little chilly for the kid. We skipped the hot tub because the water looked questionably cloudy. The first room smelled like someone had recently smoked in it, but the front desk switched us to another. In that room, we couldn't seem to turn the heat down, and the thermostat showed it going over 80, so it made for a warm night. The hotel was okay overall.

The staff were really friendly, and the location was good. The room itself was clean, but clearly neglected, with stains on the wall by the door and holes in the bathroom wall where things used to hang. The carpet on our floor badly needed replacing. We booked a king online, but on arrival they said none were available due to renovations, so we took a double Queen. Not a big deal. The shower took about 15 minutes to heat up, then the tub filled to about my ankles because the drain was slow. On our last night, the AC and fan stopped working. You get what you pay for, and many of the rooms clearly need renovations.

The rooms were clean and breakfast was great. The location was decent, close to the intermodal station. The furniture and carpet are dated, with some stains on the carpet and sofas, plus nicks and other marks on the walls. A bit of time spent upgrading the furniture could easily bring this up to four stars.
