Super 8 Milwaukee Airport

I travel a lot and often depend on airport shuttles, but I’ve never had better service, at any hotel class, than I did this morning. I arrived late and told Sam at the front desk I had a very early flight. He wrote it down and offered a wake-up call, which I declined. When I came down at 4:45 a.m., he was there with a breakfast bag for me, then drove me straight to the airport. No fuss at all. Lately I’ve been disappointed by hotels that advertise airport shuttles but run an inconsistent courtesy van at inconvenient times. The Super 8 at the Milwaukee Airport really took care of me, and I’m very impressed. I can’t say enough to management or the travel sites about how good the service was. Sam was a rockstar and went above and beyond.

The customer service was a real letdown. I called in the morning to ask for a later checkout, and the desk clerk said I could stay until noon at no charge. Then, at 11:15, a man who seemed to be a manager or owner tried to enter my room. The chain kept him out. He banged loudly on the door and asked if I’d been sleeping. I said no and reminded him I’d called and been given until 12. He was rude, insisted it was 11:30, and left me 15 minutes to pack and go. I politely repeated what I’d been told, but he just repeated the 11:30 time. The location is convenient, right across from the airport, and there are lots of nearby restaurants. The listing online said there was a hot tub or pool, though that may have been an Expedia oversight. The website also promised a “light breakfast,” but the continental breakfast area was completely closed, so they provided nothing. That should probably have been reflected in the price. If you stay here, bring food for meals. The rooms have a microwave and refrigerator. I hope this helps future guests know what to expect, and gives the owners a heads-up about how this felt while spending money at their hotel.

A no-frills, affordable place with a clean, roomy room and quick, easy check-in from the front desk. It’s about five minutes from the airport and has a shuttle. I could check in, take a hot shower, DoorDash dinner, get eight hours of sleep, and catch an early flight. Just a solid economy hotel with no thrills.

We stayed six nights and had a pretty good time. The front desk was very accommodating, and the king room was spacious and nice. The soda machine did eat my quarters, though. Not bad, I’d come back.
