Southern Inn

This was an awful stay, and I wouldn’t come here unless you want to be miserable. I’ve lived in hotels all my life growing up and have never stayed somewhere worse. There was nowhere by the nightstand to plug in my phone, and the TV volume wouldn’t get loud enough to hear unless I turned off the AC. The fridge didn’t work well either. Customer service was awful. The man at the front counter refused to bring us more towels when we needed them. He also said he didn’t know how to give me a refund, then refused it.

The price was decent for what I got, two weekend nights for $140. My bed was comfortable, the TV was great, and the AC worked well, which is rare in hotels these days. The cleaning lady was nice, and I’d probably stay again since I only had to deal with the front desk for a few seconds. I guess you get what you pay for :-) The faucet in my room had no cold water, only warm and scalding. The woman at the front desk was rude, arrogant, and entitled. She seemed uninterested in customer service or doing business, wouldn’t answer the phone or my questions, and was too busy getting back to her TV show. Her mom didn’t seem much better and glared at me the whole time. They acted like they didn’t want to work, help people, or provide customer service. Still, the value was decent.

The bed was comfortable, and it was the only piece of furniture in the room. I wondered why I had to check in outside, then figured the clerk had probably made the inside even colder. If you need a cheap night and don’t mind being treated very negatively, I suppose it’ll do.

Basic rooms, but clean and nice. The hotel was very nice, the people running it were friendly, and the quiet area let us get a good night’s sleep. Just a heads-up, they don’t allow pets. Great value.
