Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham Mineral Wells

The manager argued with me, called my wife and me liars, blamed us for not getting fresh towels or room cleaning, and eventually kicked me out for arguing back. My wife said there was no do not disturb sign, but he insisted she'd put one up and said he sees everything in the hotel. He also claimed I'd been using the heater instead of the AC, even though I knew what was on in the room. He brought up when my family had breakfast, which had nothing to do with the issue. It felt very unprofessional. During our six booked nights, the room was cleaned and the bed made only twice, and towels were refreshed only twice. The “fresh” towels included one with a dog paw print, presumably from the dog barking behind the front desk. Every time we left for the day, someone came in and switched off the AC, leaving the room stuffy. At the entrance, a loud dog was behind the desk, and the air smelled stale and of curry. There was noisy construction, with building materials blocking the whole front entrance. This was the worst hotel experience I've ever had.

We arrived late after watching our grandson play football, and the room had one problem after another. The TV volume didn't work, and what little sound came through was hard to hear over the loud AC, which also didn't cool. The bathroom sink was clogged, so we didn't even try to shower. It was supposed to be a suite, but it wasn't like the suites we've stayed in elsewhere, just two beds and a bathroom. I recently had both hips replaced, and when we were ready to leave, the elevator was broken. We had to carry our luggage down three flights. Then there was no breakfast, and trash was scattered on the floors where people had left it because the bins were overflowing. We wanted to leave. This is not a good place even if you're only sleeping and leaving. I'd rate it -5.

The beds are clean, and the staff are great when they're around. But the property seems to have gone downhill over the three years I've stayed here. There's mold in the shower, broken tile, patched walls left unpainted, and the TV sound gets drowned out by the PTAC noise.

The staff are among the friendliest I've come across, and the hotel is very clean. Rooms are spacious, with plenty of well-lit parking. The pool is tiny, though, and breakfast was pretty bad.
