Executive Inn By OYO Mineral Wells US-180

I reserved rooms online through the oyo site and paid in advance. When I arrived later that day to check in, they said there were no rooms available and the reservation should never have gone through. They told me they'd cancel it and refund me, but four weeks later they claimed I had canceled and refused to return my money. This company is a joke, and I don't recommend any of their businesses. They are thieves.

The rooms are huge, which stood out to me after a year and a half bouncing around cheap hotels. The new couches being installed the day I arrived are great; I wish I had one at home, and I usually hate hotel couches. The room is a little shabby, but for the space and price I can't complain. The real wood floors have a classic feel that faux wood can't match, and the field across from the parking lot gives the place a country feel. Pest control seems pretty good, and I haven't had real problems. There are tradeoffs: the room could use updating, the connecting door to the neighboring room leaves little to the imagination, and you have to drive 15 minutes to get anywhere. I'm fine with that, and if something's wrong you can talk to the front desk. The place is interesting, clean, and comfortable enough if you're broke and need somewhere to rest. It isn't the Ritz or a Hilton, but I'd stay again if my RV broke down. Kevin could probably turn it into an extended-stay suite place and bring in more business by adding full kitchenettes. I gave it five stars because the ratings seemed like they needed help, and it really isn't that bad.

Management is very nice and keeps my delivered packages for me. One person even walked to my room to let me know I'd left one of my dogs in the entrance, instead of letting him out after I'd only just gone into my room. That was going the extra mile for me 😀

We left without staying, and ended up driving home because we couldn't find another hotel in Mineral Wells or Graham with a room or space to park and charge our boat. Our plans were ruined. The room we were given was supposedly non-smoking, but the old cigarette smell nearly knocked me over when I opened the door. The door jamb had been kicked in, with broken pieces put back and held up by drywall screws. The only thing that seemed okay was the AC. I didn't even make it to the bathroom. There were two beds, but only one had pillows. Before booking Saturday night, I called Kevin to ask whether the rooms were clean and bug-free. He assured me they were. My husband and I had spent the day at the lake and planned to go back Sunday. We arrived around 7, and it was the last room available. I went back to the office and told Kevin it was nasty and smelled terrible, and he refunded me. I'd read mixed reviews and was hesitant, but my husband wanted to check it out. Long story short, don't do it.
