Seacoast Motel

I was hesitant about booking a motel, but Seacoast Motel was a pleasant surprise. We spent a week there on our Maine vacation and had a great stay. The room was cute, comfortable, very clean, and free of odors, with the basics and then some. We booked a King room, and the spotless, odorless, comfortable bed was a highlight after long days exploring. It was nice coming back to a freshly cleaned room and sleeping well. You’re right on the Wells–Ogunquit town line, near shops, good restaurants, beaches, and local attractions. Stutesy’s Grill is right next door. It had the feel of a family-run business, and the woman who checked us in was so sweet and welcoming. That personal touch made the stay even better. We’d happily book again when we’re back in the area.

The bed was very soft, so it probably won’t suit you if you need a firm one. Bring your own shampoo and conditioner, since they only provide small conditioning shampoo packets and a tiny bar of soap. We found this at the last minute for one night, and the price wasn’t bad. The front desk guy was super friendly. The room was clean, but could use a deeper clean: our feet got black from walking on the apparently unmopped floor, and there was dirt along the tops of the floorboards. You could smell disinfectant when you first walked in, so we opened the window and went out for a while to air it out. It’s not far from the beach, though there are no sidewalks for about a block.

The motel and room were clean when we arrived, and the staff were friendly. We booked a night through Expedia and slept comfortably in a great bed. It was quiet, too, and the pool was great. It’s not fancy, but it has everything you need and is a great place for families. We’d absolutely stay again.

The central location was the only nice part of this stay. The beds were decently comfortable, but we saw two rooms with recently patched, unpainted holes in the walls, and the TV had maybe 10-20 channels you had to guess through. I wouldn’t come back. The customer service was terrible, and we felt like a bother. I’d booked through Expedia and had a receipt showing I’d paid for the first night. The manager wasn’t there, so an employee told me to come back after 5 to speak with her, and said nothing would be charged until then. I said we were going to dinner, and she assured me the manager would be there. The manager called while we were eating and left a voicemail. We got back at 5:30, but she’d left. The employee said I could talk to her in the morning. Our TV also wasn’t working, and after the employee spent at least 20-30 minutes trying to fix it, we had to move rooms. Around 8, the manager called again with an attitude, asking when I could discuss the bill. I said I’d been there at 5:30 and she wasn’t there. She claimed she had been there at 5 but had a business to run. We agreed to talk in the morning, but after we hung up I checked my account and saw she’d charged the full amount. I called back, we argued, and I complained about the service and having to change rooms after a long day. She said they’d accommodated us and that I could just check out in the morning. We stayed because she already had the money and there was no way to get a refund. I strongly suggest finding another local hotel or motel.
