The parking mess ruined my business trip, and Kasa’s customer service made it much worse. I arrived on an evening flight in a rental car, but the online system wouldn’t let me into the garage because I hadn’t registered a plate at 3:30 pm. I’d asked for parking when I booked, and Kasa had already charged me. After several failed calls, I finally got a text after midnight and managed to add the plate at 1 am. The next night I parked with Kasa’s permit on the dashboard as instructed, but my car was towed anyway, costing $300. The apartment building staff said this happens to Kasa guests all the time. I was meant to meet my client that morning, but instead had to retrieve my car from the impound lot. I no longer felt safe there. I left after two nights of a five-night booking and paid for another hotel for the rest of my trip. No one ever answered the customer service line. I only got texts saying they made no exceptions about refunds. Awful experience. Don’t stay at Kasa. Go somewhere with an actual front desk and receptionist. I found Kasa through Hotels.com while planning my Minneapolis work trip, and that made me think it was a legitimate hotel. It isn’t a real hotel, from what I could tell. It seems to be a tech company leasing units in apartment buildings and listing them as “hotel suites.” Like AirBnB, but with no human host when something goes wrong because the company holds the apartment lease. Check-in was another problem. The texted instructions were wrong. With no receptionist on site, I called the 24/7 number and got an automated message and hold music, never a person. I waited outside for 20 minutes, then got into the building by following a tenant. The unit also lacked basic things: no shower curtain, hardly any kitchenette supplies, no sponge or dish soap, just one dish towel, and several burnt-out bulbs. I had a friend over for dinner, just the two of us talking, and at 10 pm an automated text warned that noise sensors had picked up noise and this could cancel my reservation. Other guests say this happens a lot. I didn’t consent to being surveilled. It’s creepy that Kasa can afford noise sensors and surveillance technology, but not a receptionist, reachable customer service, or basics like a shower curtain.

Kasa, a better way to register parked cars would help a lot. I honestly forgot to put the parking tag on my dash, and within two hours my car was towed. Apartment staff showed me the tow photo and gave me the lot details. It took 20 minutes of driving and $330 to get my car back. Please make some modest improvements to the parking setup.

We loved our unit at Kasa Bryn Mawr, with lots of windows, natural light, and plenty of space. It worked perfectly for our family of four. The location made it easy to get to major roads and was only a short distance from downtown Mpls. Communication and check-in/check-out instructions were great. We’ll stay at KBM again next time we visit Mpls.

The apartment was quiet and comfortable, and the top-floor balcony view was the highlight. My room’s own balcony was nice too. Everything in the room impressed me, from the washer and dryer and dishwasher to the decent bathtub and shower pressure. It’s baby-friendly as well. I’d give it a 9/10 and would definitely come back.

The apartment was quiet, extremely clean, and looked new. For a longer stay, having a washer and dryer is a great feature, and the price was no more than a decent hotel. I paid for a parking space and was glad to have the garage, though street parking might work too. It’s about 15 minutes from the University of Minnesota campus. If I return to Minneapolis and it’s available, I’ll stay here again. The access system works well, as long as you follow the detailed arrival message or email exactly. You first use the building’s front-door code, then an elevator code, then the code for your apartment door. Inside, two fobs on lanyards let you enter the building from outside or the garage and use the elevator without codes. The apartment door still needs its code. You also get a garage-door remote and a card to display on your dashboard. Once you know the steps, it’s all perfectly easy.
