The rooftop deck and social area were nice, with a pool table, and there was also a little warmed spa pool outside. The workout room was great. It was quiet, and getting in with the door code was easy. The room had a fridge, sink, microwave, and mini stove, plus a washer and dryer. It had what I needed for either a short visit or a longer stay. My main suggestion: provide two key fobs per room, or a code that lets guests use the elevator to reach their rooms.

The pool and lobby were nice, and the building felt very secure. The rooms were generally nice too. But our room wasn’t ready at the 3 p.m. check-in time. Friends staying there let us leave our things in their room, and even when we planned to head out at 4:30, ours still wasn’t ready. That worked out only because we had their room to use. Without it, the delay would’ve been a big problem, especially since it’s so hard to reach anyone for help. At the pool, one renter kept loudly repeating how much they hated non-renters staying at the mint, while staring right at us. They seemed clearly intoxicated. I didn’t feel threatened, but it was annoying to hear the same thing over and over while we were trying to relax and not bother anyone. I wouldn’t stay here again or recommend it.

For my three-night conference visit, the central location worked really well. The room was clean, nicely decorated, and simple, but had everything I needed, including fast Wi-Fi. Check-in and checkout were easy, and both the staff and residents were friendly. Someone helped me through check-in and rang me up to my room. I’d definitely recommend staying here.

The view of Minneapolis was halfway decent, but I wouldn’t recommend staying here. The lobby looks lovely, yet the front desk is almost always empty. There’s a customer service number, but they can’t do much right away or in person. Our place looked “clean” at first, but the floors were dirty, the dishwasher had dirty dishes, and the toilet was stained and smelled awful. There was only half a roll of toilet paper, with no spare. When we checked out, there weren’t instructions for returning the key fobs. We left a few small, expensive items behind and realized the next day. After more than five unanswered calls to the front desk, customer service said to come back the following day. I called the number they gave me when I arrived, but nobody answered. We waited outside for about an hour and a half, calling both the desk and customer service, with no response. If you leave something behind, you won’t get it back. The room maintenance and customer service were both very poor, and there’s no one on site to help with anything urgent.

The location was the one good thing. For what they charge, the place felt ghetto. The bathroom sink took half an hour to drain after I brushed my teeth, and the tub held so much standing water I didn’t want to use it. There were handprints on the bathroom walls and mirror, and they definitely weren’t mine. Gross. I’m very allergic to feathers, so I removed the pillowcases to check. Instead, I found anti-theft devices that kept me from checking whether there were feathers inside. The bed was a thin piece of foam, the sheets weren’t cotton, and I woke up sweaty and gross. With the tub not draining, I couldn’t shower either. Some vertical blinds were missing from the sliding glass door, so I went to sleep watching the light display on a neighboring building. I won’t be back.
