We were invited as guests to go swimming, and our visit was extremely enjoyable. The water was clear, without weeds, and beautiful for swimming. There were docks with people's boats.

It's a beautiful spot, especially by the lake. In the morning you're facing the sunrise. There's a shared area for outdoor games like horseshoes, plus a common dock with around 8 boat slips, spots for canoes and kayaks, and loads of dock chairs. The swimming area is really nice, with sand in the shallow water underwater, not a beach, and a floating platform you can swim out to. Great for big families, young and old, though the stairs down to the dock are kind of steep, about two flights. I'm pretty sure people own all the cabins and stay in them at least once each summer. The rest of the time, they're available to rent on VRBO or elsewhere, but you really have to book ahead. We come up with family. Some of our family own one cabin, and then we rent another for the rest of us. Back in the day, it probably worked more like a motel, with vacancies more often, but not really anymore. All the cabins you rent are very different.

We stayed in Duxbury, which is handled by Northwoods Property Management. It's clean, comfortable, well situated, close to town, and on Lake Minocqua. It sleeps up to 8 people and has a boat slip. The beds are fantastic and new. We booked online through VRBO, and check-in was seamless. We'll stay in Duxbury again, probably for snow machine season.

Minocqua is beautiful, and some of the cabins are great, but staying here wasn't worth being treated so poorly by the owner when we were paying to be here. He's a drunk racist who demeans women. He's extremely unprofessional and disrespectful to women, and has a huge lack of self-control with anger. He screamed in my face, wouldn't let me speak to him, and got in my personal space. He seems to think his property is the best around, but honestly, it's quite junky, with junk piled around it. Even if you're quiet and keep to yourself, you have to tread lightly around him and the property. I'm not someone who leaves bad reviews, but this incident was awful and unnecessary. Please be careful. Good luck to you all.

Cute place, close to the lake and town. The cabins are clean, it's quiet and not rambunctious, and check-in and checkout are easy.
