Holiday Inn Express & Suites Minot by IHG

The front desk woman was wonderful to work with, and breakfast was free. There was a continental spread with a pancake machine, eggs and meat, cereal, fruit, and yogurt. In general, the stay would’ve been fine if the ceiling hadn’t leaked on a very rainy night. The leak started slowly, then picked up quickly. Thankfully, we were there to move our belongings out of the way. We let the desk know, and she tried to reach a manager, but couldn’t get hold of one after 30 minutes. The dripping was too loud to sleep, and we needed to spend the day with our family member in the hospital, so we asked to change rooms. The only room available that night had no shower, but they could offer another room the next day. We asked to use it for one night and move again tomorrow so we could get some sleep. They agreed, but couldn’t let us keep both rooms, so we moved our things at 9 pm and moved again the next day. We had quite a few belongings because we expected to stay in town several weeks. Aside from the leak, it was a pretty ordinary hotel stay.

The GM is awesome and takes care of what you need. The staff are friendly, the rooms are nice, and breakfast is good. The pool and hot tub were clean, as they should be. Rooms had brand-new TVs and ethernet cord capability. Don’t forget to sign up for IGH rewards. It’s super easy to use for free rooms on a quick vacation. Five stars.

I had a positive stay overall. It was quiet, the bed was good, and both the service and breakfast were good. The pool was a bit disappointing, though not enough to ruin the stay. I’d have expected a room like this to cost $100 at most. Paying $150, along with the pool, brought it down to three stars.

I’ve been driving from FL to AK and staying at Holiday Inn Express each night with my 7lb Yorkie, paying the pet fee without any trouble. After a 12-hour drive, I reached this hotel only to be turned away at the door because they didn’t accept dogs. It was really disappointing to see them advertise one thing and do another. I guess I’ll stay at the Hilton from now on, where I’ve never had an issue with my dog, who’s trained and quiet.
