Motel 6 Minot, ND

We found the room clean, with comfortable beds and a spotless bathroom, and the rates felt fair. Check-in was easy, and the front desk team were helpful and welcoming. The pool and spa were a relaxing bonus, and the location is handy for shopping centers and restaurants. Breakfast was the one thing missing, but it was still a comfortable, affordable stay at Motel 6 in Minot.

The location worked well for us, with dining and shopping within walking distance and an easy trip to the airport. The pool seemed fine, though it made the building feel more humid. There was an odd smell at the end of the hall, and our shower curtain was making the room smell too. We asked for a replacement, and the front desk brought a fresh one without any trouble.

We were only stopping briefly on a road trip, so I gave this discount hotel a try even though they’re not usually my preference. Check-in was okay, but we were told the wrong room number and nearly went into the wrong room. The number was correct on the key card envelope. In the room, the TV came on but the remote didn’t work. At checkout I learned there were two remotes and I was supposed to find one in the desk drawer, nowhere near the TV. The bathroom seemed to get cleaned regularly, but I’m not sure about the rest of the room. I don’t understand how this place has a four-star Google rating.

The beds were great, and the computer TV wasn’t a big deal to me, but room 122 had a nasty problem in the morning. The tub drained so slowly that it backed up, leaving me standing in other people’s slime, hair, and who knows what. It was so gross I wouldn’t let my wife shower. I reported it at the desk and got the usual “I’ll tell maintenance.” There’s no hotel breakfast either.
