Hampton Inn & Suites Mission Viejo

We were totally pleased and will stay again. The rooms were serviced each night, and the complimentary hot breakfast had eggs and a different meat every morning. The outdoor area had a beautiful hot tub with a waterfall and a pool, and there was a nice fitness facility. The hotel was clean, and the front desk staff were pleasant throughout our week-long stay.

The rooms didn’t seem properly cleaned. We found cleaning towels, and after requesting housekeeping service, the pillowcases and sheets looked like the ones we’d slept on the previous night. That felt unhygienic and completely unacceptable, especially at a well-known chain where we’ve stayed at other locations. The weekend manager, whom we kept running into by the elevators, seemed contemptuous and dismissive toward guests and apparently her coworkers too. She didn’t speak English, so we couldn’t clearly explain our concerns or get a resolution. Even with the language barrier, her lack of care made the stay stressful and uncomfortable instead of a relaxing weekend. The experience was disappointing and worrying in terms of hygiene and guest relations. I wouldn’t recommend the hotel until cleanliness, linen hygiene, and customer service improve. Other staff seemed willing to communicate and do their jobs, so the manager’s leadership seems to be part of the problem. I hope she addresses this soon.

Using the honors app to check in early and choose our room was a plus. The room was spacious and clean, and the property was well kept and secluded while still convenient to necessities and activities. We had a very comfortable stay, and I’d recommend it.

The shower was great, though I found the bed a little uncomfortable. The rooms were large and clean, with plenty of parking. Breakfast is included and fine. If you’re after something nicer, there’s a place you can walk to in 2-3 minutes, though I didn’t go. This is a cookie-cutter Hampton Inn, which is exactly what you want when staying at a Hampton Inn.
