Shary Inn and Suites

There’s exterior remodeling underway, but the hotel is still open and in good shape. The rooms are clean and maintained well enough, and the breakfast bar was clean and stocked acceptably. Parking is plentiful and the location is convenient. It’s not fancy, but I think it’s hard to beat for the price.

We stayed for two nights because we couldn’t find a hotel in the area, and we got sick afterward. I think the place should be investigated, and I’m concerned it could make guests sick. I’ll add pictures later. I’m a real customer, not a robot, and paying guests have a right to a clean place to sleep. If you doubt the reviews, ask to see the room. They have one that looks clean and nice, but then send you to a dirty one. It feels like a bad game they play with everyone. The location is privileged, but it doesn’t make up for the shocking condition. The rooms are dirty and smell bad, the carpets are stained, and the bedding isn’t clean. The carpet behind and under the furniture was the nastiest I’ve seen. It looked like it had never been cleaned. Hotels shouldn’t have beds and furniture fixed to the floor where it’s hard to clean underneath. Cleaning seems nonexistent, like they’re cutting corners to save time and money. The front desk was awful. One staff member was sitting on the sofa watching videos on her phone and was rude when guests interrupted her. The morning staff, though, were respectful and professional. Some employees clearly care, others don’t. We need better accountability for hotel cleanliness and safety in the US. Hotel owners need to remember that this is America, where people can post reviews and choose not to stay somewhere dirty. With better management, this place could improve, but until then people should think twice. The low price should be a warning if you want a clean place to sleep. If you don’t care about your family’s health, maybe it’s for you. A cheap stay can get very expensive if you end up paying for doctors and medicine.

During our seven-day stay, we got no room service, and I had to go get towels myself each time. The service was poor, and hot water took forever. Managers and workers would also enter our room without knocking. I wouldn’t recommend this place.

Housekeeping was phenomenal, and the staff were outstanding. The rooms were clean, too. It’s a beautiful place in a great location close to everything. If I could, I’d rate it 10 out of 10 😄
