The thermostat wouldn’t go below 66F, even at night in winter. Parking was also a problem on my trip: about half the spots were occupied by OHV trailers, and the lot ran out. Each morning we heard loud engines revving and idling right outside our window while people got ready for the day. The hotel is supposed to have a designated trailer area, but doesn’t enforce it. If you’re hoping for a peaceful stay, this isn’t the place.

Breakfast the next morning was chaotic, with a serious shortage of food, apparently because some guests had hoarded too much. The trouble had started at check-in: at 2:00 PM, the front desk staff were rude and unhelpful, abruptly telling me to come back at 4:00 PM. I finally got a room at 5:30 PM, but the noise and traffic made it impossible to stay in. When we asked to switch rooms, the Blonde lady at the desk looked visibly annoyed. She said my 20 years of membership with the Choice chain meant nothing and was very aggressive, implying she could refuse to move us if she wanted. It was a very unpleasant stay.

The rooms are nice, but the front desk interaction really matters since that’s the first person guests meet. When we stayed on November 27th, the person there was awesome. We checked in again yesterday and the experience was a complete 180, hard to believe it was the same place.

After a 5.5-hour drive, I was worn out when I pulled into Moab and checked in. Everything seemed in order except the bedroom window wouldn’t shut. Chrystal, Noah, & DJ came by within minutes and got it fixed.

The room AC was acting up, but the ladies at the counter were 💯. They sorted out a booking mix-up and didn’t charge me for the extra hour with their bike rental. It was my birthday weekend, and they gave me chocolates too. Definitely coming back. Ask for Heather.
