Baymont by Wyndham Mobile/Tillmans Corner

There were lots of people hanging around the parking lot, and I was glad to leave. I’ve stayed in budget places before, and I’m no princess, but this was awful. I would have walked out when I first entered if my friend hadn’t used free points. I kept my complaints mostly to myself out of courtesy, but this place needs an inspection and should close until the electrical problems are fixed and everything is thoroughly cleaned, including replacing the linens. The bedspread had brown stains all over it. The outlet by the vanity didn’t work, so to dry my hair or use appliances I had to plug into one about eight feet away, which meant standing there to see the bathroom mirror. That outlet sparked, as did another one in the room. I can’t really rate this place, but had to give it a 1 so the review would post.

The front desk woman came out to help us because of my disability, which I appreciated. But the room smelled stale and moldy and hadn’t been cleaned. We had to take our old towels in to get fresh ones. The beds are about three feet off the floor, so they’re not very accessible for someone with a disability.

I couldn’t stay and booked a room somewhere else because there was no way I could sleep there. The front desk woman was super nice, but she couldn’t even get me checked in without people I found sketchy bombarding her with questions and complaints. There were a lot of people roaming around, and parking was a nightmare. Inside, the room felt damp and smelled of mildew. The blanket at the foot of the bed had burn holes and mold, the floor tiles were sticky, and there were hairballs. It looked like the room hadn’t been cleaned. The toilet didn’t work properly, and the bathroom walls had mold too. Don’t waste your time or money here. This deserves zero stars.

We left after only a couple of minutes in the room. The electrical outlets were open with wires exposed, the bedding was faded and worn, the paint had come off the door, and everything looked old. People who looked like they might be living on the street were wandering around the parking and pool areas. We didn’t feel safe and worried our rental car would be broken into. They refused to refund us, even though we left. I wouldn’t trust the photos or 10/10 reviews. Expedia should inspect these places more carefully. Update: I contacted an Expedia supervisor and got a full refund. I’m very satisfied with how Expedia resolved it.
