Motel 6 Mobile North

The room was hot and the AC was loud. The staff were really nice when I arrived, and after I mentioned the problems, they sent a maintenance man. He didn’t check anything, just said all the AC units needed replacing and left. I looked at it myself and was horrified. It seemed like the unit hadn’t been cleaned since it was installed. I cleaned the filth out, and the room became ice cold and quiet. It just takes some common sense and know-how to get the job done. I didn’t even get a thank you.

We knew this wasn’t a four-star hotel, but expected something decent for our weekend with family. The staff were friendly, which was the only good part. Our room smelled bad, the floor was sticky, there was a huge hole in the ceiling, and it hadn’t been cleaned before we arrived. The bathroom paneling was falling apart. Sure, we got a decent price, but if I wanted to stay in a hellhole, you’d have to pay me to do it. I’d give them half a star if I could.

We arrived in the middle of the night after eight hours of nonstop driving on the first day of our five-day trip. The staff were kind and helpful, but housekeeping hadn’t finished the room. There were no blankets or towels, the only washcloth looked used, and there was no soap. Thankfully we’d brought our own. We had to go back to the office to get what we needed. The staff member seemed embarrassed that the room wasn’t ready, but we were exhausted and the stay was below par. We make this trip twice a year, and we won’t stay here again. Based on this experience, I can’t recommend it to anyone.

The front desk staff were excellent, and the room didn’t smell; the beds were clean too. But the bathroom door had swollen and wouldn’t shut, and the laminate was peeling off every piece of wood. The parking lot was also in bad shape and full of holes. Compared with other Motel 6s I’ve stayed at, the room was in poor condition. The location wasn’t one of your best, though the staff we dealt with were very nice.
