Holiday Inn Express and Suites Modesto by IHG

The room was clean, the front desk was friendly and cordial, and breakfast was really good. Only one lamp across the room had a USB port that worked for charging. I found the cheapest room price online through a third party, and I'd definitely stay again.

After a long night at my son's game, my family checked in exhausted at 8pm and finally fell asleep around 10. Around midnight, the chaos started. Adults across from our room kept slamming doors, yelling, laughing loudly, using vulgar language, and acting like they couldn't handle their liquor. Next door, adults were moaning all night. It felt like sleeping in a brothel and a nightclub. My whole family was kept awake, especially my daughter, who woke up with a migraine. I went downstairs at 2am to ask for a quiet room. The front desk woman offered earplugs and a brief apology. Other families were complaining too, so it clearly wasn't just us. Any competent hotel would have kicked those people out, but they were allowed to stay and keep ruining the night. Zero out of ten. An absolutely horrible experience with this IHG.

The rooms are spacious, clean, and nicely appointed, with wonderful beds, BeautyRest I'm looking at you! Bathrooms are very clean and bright, with great water pressure. It's a welcoming hotel right off the freeway.

I was very disappointed. At a rate of $219 for one night, I expected someone to bring up two towels when I called the front desk a little after 9pm. They told me they don't do that, and that I'd have to carry my dirty towels down and exchange them myself. After a day of softball and showers, walking around with dirty towels was the last thing I wanted. I asked if she was serious, she said yes, and I declined and hung up. That's never happened at another hotel I've stayed at. It was me and my three daughters, and I was trying to get ready for early morning showers. The room gets three stars from me, since many of the outlets didn't work.
