Sequoia Village

They gave our booked room to another couple, even though I'd confirmed check-in through their own site. The replacement was smaller, with no view or balcony, and they didn't lower the price. They offered us another day in the right room at a discount, but when we tried to take them up on it, we got no response. My birthday weekend was ruined. And don't be fooled about the amenities. There's no pool now, just a platform where the pool used to be, overlooking houses behind the property. You might get a few sunset pictures, that's about it. They don't provide breakfast either. There is a shared kitchen where you can make your own breakfast with food you bring.

After a long, tiring day hiking at Sequoia National Park, this place has what you need to settle in. The room and bed were tidy, secure and comfortable, with excellent sanitation and hot water. The walls are a little thin, but a white noise machine could help with that. It's family-owned, and the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. There are lots of indoor and outdoor places to relax and spend time together.

Room 208 is up the stairs, so getting bags there would be a hassle. I left mine downstairs. Check-in was quick and pleasant during the day; for late arrivals, they leave packages by the front entrance and the “vacancy” sign. The property is a collection of buildings with different styles, so rooms can vary a lot. Mine was cozy and small, but clean, with a mini fridge, microwave, TV and other comforts. There's a marked road down to the river by the property. You'll have to walk once you get there, but it might be the exercise you need. ;0)

The place was disgusting, and the staff were rude. Even if it costs a little less than other places, the quality is so poor I wouldn't stay for free. Look at the other bad reviews and stay somewhere else if you want to enjoy your trip.
