Silver City Mountain Resort

Our team was sent by the company to carry out professional repair work. We completed the job properly, documented everything, and provided the details for materials, labor and mileage. The service had been fully approved, but the company still refused to pay the bill. They also objected to one of our technicians speaking Spanish while working. We treat every customer respectfully and don't accept discrimination against our team. Our technicians are highly trained, and speaking another language doesn't affect their work. We run an honest business and stand behind our services. In this case, the company chose not to pay and made inappropriate complaints instead of settling the matter professionally.

Being so far from the modern world is a big part of what makes this place special. You’re right by wilderness, with plenty of hikes nearby, including trails where you can get close to the iconic Giant Sequoia. There’s historic value here, too. My wife and I stayed for 10 days and loved it. The first few nights were in the cozy “Monarch Lake” room, attached to the main building and with its own terrace. For our last six nights, we moved to the private “Franklin Pass” cabin, which was perfect for a couple. The staff were welcoming and genuinely engaging, and we loved the restaurant. The menu is limited, but they’ve perfected what they serve. Those burgers may be the best we’ve ever had, and the fries are cooked in beef tallow.

Getting here on the road is an adventure, though it’s currently under construction and being improved. Once you arrive, the resort is well kept, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. There are great hiking trails all around and nearby. The restaurant was amazing. I didn’t try everything, but everything I ordered was delicious.

The drive from Mineral King Rd. can take 1 hour 45 minutes to 2 hours for new drivers, using first and second gear, so take your time. There’s no cell or internet access on the drive, so let the staff know when to expect you. We absolutely loved Silver City, tucked deep inside the forest. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, 10+/10, and the food was excellent. We chose a room with a grill, though some rooms have a full kitchen. I’d call this a “Luxury Camp.”
