Ramada by Wyndham Modesto Yosemite Area

The room had serious safety problems, but I still haven't been able to get anyone at the hotel to address them. I was there with my disabled granddaughter, and a light socket between the beds had fallen out of the wall. The bathtub plug was broken, so I couldn't give her a bath. When I got out of my own shower, I found that every towel smelled strongly of BO. After checking in at 3:00, we went for food, ate dinner, watched a little TV, and went to bed. Around 9:30, I called the front desk to report everything, explaining I couldn't deal with it right then because we had an important doctor's appointment. In the morning, management wasn't there, and the person at the counter said to call and they'd see what they could do. Since I booked through a third party, I was told that company had to start any refund request. I believe it was Hopper. I called them, and their agents got hung up on by hotel staff three or four times. The agent asked me to call back at 3:00, so I did and gave them the number I found online. It wasn't the same number they had, so they tried both and kept getting hung up on. The next day Hopper's agents tried again. We got the runaround that only management could approve a refund or compensation, but management wasn't there, and we got hung up on again. Calls from the phone number on my reservation just rang and rang. I found out my cell number had been blocked, so I couldn't call from it. When I called from another phone, they answered after two rings. I heard management was supposed to be there the next morning, but when Hopper called then, they weren't there either. This all began around our appointment on February 11; we were there from February 10. I'm still trying to reach the management. I don't know if they realize I'll post my experience on every platform I can: electrical hazards, a disabled child in the room, the broken tub plug, and towels that stank. I like giving good reviews and don't like complaining, since it feels like everybody complains. I'd be the first to give them a good review if someone would acknowledge the problems, take the unsafe room conditions seriously, and answer the calls so we could resolve this. This has been just terrible.

I wouldn't choose this hotel again. The website says breakfast comes with the stay, but they don't provide it. I asked if they'd lower the rate since breakfast is no longer available, and they refused. The rooms aren't that nice, especially without breakfast.

Ang at the front desk was so helpful and welcoming, and really went out of her way for everything I needed. I have social anxiety and usually feel nervous asking for anything, but she made me comfortable enough to ask about the complimentary breakfast, which I loved. She really made my stay better. Thanks, Ramada. I'll definitely come back soon.

We only needed a room for a few hours to sleep before heading back to the ER at Sutter. We came in around 3am, and the night auditor was unusually friendly. That was a really nice change. The room was very clean and well kept.
