SpringHill Suites by Marriott Modesto

Victoria, I think, was the girl at the front desk, and she was so nice. We got in around 9pm and she checked us in quickly. The room was clean, roomy, and comfortable. I'd absolutely stay again if I'm in the area.

We've been staying at the SpringHill Suites in Modesto for three weeks after a fire, and this has been a comfortable, convenient replacement for home after trying a few other hotels. The staff have been welcoming and helpful the whole time, from quick check-in to friendly hallway greetings. The freeway is close by, as are restaurants and shops. You can hear some traffic, but the rooms are still quite quiet inside. Our room is spacious and well equipped, with a separate living area, desk, microwave, and mini-fridge. The beds are comfortable, and the room is very clean. Breakfast is complimentary and hot, with plenty of choices that change each day. The breakfast staff are cheerful and attentive. The modern, pleasant lobby is a nice place to have coffee or connect with family. It's a dependable, no-fuss stay with good rooms and excellent staff.

The front counter staff were great, and the included breakfast had exactly what I wanted before heading to baseball. But the mold smell in the hallways and rooms was too much. I understand that with a pool and kids who don't dry off completely, there's going to be some smell, but this was worse than Great Wolf Lodge, where a water park makes it more understandable. The carpets need cleaning.

Springfield at Marriott in Modesto is trying to cancel a reservation I made and paid for on August 6, 2025, for November 1, 2025. I booked over two months ahead for a wedding party, and transportation to and from the hotel is already arranged. Yet they're letting people make new reservations just days ago while canceling mine. I have evidence that other guests booked recently. This is completely unacceptable, especially from a major name like Marriott. I'd strongly advise everyone not to book here unless you want your reservation unexpectedly canceled two days before you arrive and to be left on the streets.
