Mojave Hotel

Three months later, I still haven’t had a response from the owner. I contacted them right after their reply and again more than three months later, and was ignored. I cancelled after the first night because the room had blood and bugs all over. The owner was incompetent and acted like an ass. He said he’d refund the four nights I wasn’t staying, but months later I learned he had denied the refund through the travel company. Other motels nearby are much better, about the same price or close to it. Don’t waste your money here.

It’s an older property, but it has what you need for a good night’s stay, and it’s hard to find these facilities at this price. The family working here are awesome and make you feel welcome. I’d recommend it to someone looking for a decent hotel without spending much.

There was a dead cockroach in the fridge just last week, and the reviews mention a bedbug problem. The hotel was terrible, but I was staying there because school left me no other choice. When I arrived around 1 a.m. for a two-night booking, the owner was yelling that I’d booked at $45-$50 a night and had to pay extra. I’d already booked and paid, so I asked why I should pay again. He got furious, shouted at me to leave right away, and said there was no room. If there hadn’t been glass between us, I’m sure he would have hit me. It’s unbelievable this still happens. Maybe it was a blessing in disguise, since I won’t have to stay in that disgusting place again. Stay far away.

The bathroom floor was filthy, with someone else’s hair left on it, and the curtains had some kind of stain. The sheets looked unchanged, so I’m guessing the room hadn’t been cleaned. I also saw what looked like blood spots on the bathroom wall. I never ended up staying. The front desk was hostile when I tried to check in and complained about the price I was supposedly paying for his rooms. Worst place.
