The room card readers were strong enough to work through a wallet, and the rooms seemed recently built or remodeled. They sell beer at the front counter, and the hotel is very close to the airport. The only issue was the tub’s shower diverter, which worked about 75 percent of the time. A lot of water went straight down the drain instead of spraying on me. All in all, a good hotel :)

Breakfast was good, though they had a spot for oatmeal and none out. The bathroom had a short toilet, but the shower head was at a good height with good pressure, and the fan ventilated well. The blackout curtain was hard to operate. The sheets were soft, the bed comfortable, and the bathroom spacious. We could hear people moving around above us, as there wasn’t enough concrete between the floors.

I came back nearly three years after a stay when the staff had been amazing, this time while in town for a funeral. I was already miserable, and the check-in treatment and housekeeping experience made it worse. Angie from housekeeping was shockingly rude. We were in room 115 by the elevators and could hear her gossiping about her staff outside our door. I asked for more towels, and she brought them, then went straight back to talking with a coworker instead of working. When I asked them to move because I could hear everything, they rolled their eyes and shifted a little, but spent another ten minutes speaking badly about the hotel. The third time I came out, I asked her name. She said she was Angie, the housekeeping manager, and then put on a fake act when she saw I was upset and might go to management. I was stunned she was the manager. I heard her say she didn’t care how rooms got cleaned as long as they were done. To me, that sounds like she doesn’t change the sheets. A sister hotel reportedly told me she’d previously been caught not changing sheets before she was promoted. That shocked me, too. If she isn’t changing sheets, she shouldn’t have a job, and higher-ups should check her work. It’s easy to see whether she’s changing the bedding and doing her job. Managers help with rooms too, but from what I heard directly, she gets paid to walk around and talk all day. Must be nice. My GM would fire her in a heartbeat. I felt like I was back in high school, not there for a funeral. While other staff were running around, she was standing around gossiping about them instead of helping. It’s disheartening, and I hope they aren’t treated the way she spoke about them. I don’t know what happened to the old staff, but I’d guess this is why many left. The remodel alone won’t bring me back. They’ve lost my business. Do better with your hiring and promotions.

After our airport plans were canceled, we walked to this hotel since it was close by. The room was nice and clean, and we had no issues. I noticed there was a pill, but we didn’t get to try it.

The room was clean and comfortable, and I’d stay here again when passing through. We stay at a lot of Holiday Inn hotels, and I was pleased with this one. The inside and outside look newly redone, and the front desk staff were very nice and got us checked in quickly. Two women were working up front, and they were helpful when we stopped by a couple of times. I was impressed that they kept busy folding towels and doing other hotel work whenever they had a moment, rather than sitting around waiting for guests.
