My boyfriend was so uncomfortable he couldn’t sleep, and I was home four hours away calling the police because I couldn’t get through to check on him. This was a horrible, frightening experience. The area didn’t feel safe for walking to the nearest store or restaurant, about nine blocks away or more. At around 2:30 a.m., a man kept harassing my boyfriend and trying to sell him a cellphone. My boyfriend didn’t want it. I believed the man was scoping him out to see if he had anything worth stealing, and I later learned he was a well known criminal accused of kidnapping and robbing people in the same way he approached my boyfriend. My boyfriend had nothing to steal, so I guess that’s why he wasn’t robbed. The man wouldn’t take no for an answer, so I called the police. My boyfriend had switched rooms because many rooms didn’t have working phones. I didn’t know which room he was in, so I asked the clerk to connect me to his original room, where she knew he wasn’t staying. I called back with the right room number, but she told me I’d better have it right next time or she wouldn’t transfer my calls. She didn’t transfer me then, either. He had to catch a 5:20 a.m. Greyhound bus, so I called to wake him for his 4 a.m. start. The clerk said it was too early for him to be on the phone. I lost my temper and yelled at her to transfer the call because his Uber was coming in 30 minutes. She smacked her lips, then finally did it. All night, she transferred me to the correct room just once, that morning. The clerk made the place feel unsafe and uncomfortable, and the whole situation made me wonder if she and the man were in on trying to rob my boyfriend. I wouldn’t put it past her, given how she kept me from contacting him. This was the most unprofessional, dangerous environment. Nobody should waste their money on these filthy, disgusting rooms.

I was in town for work, but couldn’t renew my weekend stay because of their new policy. You can’t book multiple days on the weekend, and can’t renew until the manager arrives at 9 a.m. My belongings were taken to the lobby, and some items were missing. A staff member had already taken items from my room to the front desk. The person who cleaned my room stole a new bottle of cologne, leaving the empty box as if it were still there. The front desk doesn’t answer the phone and wasn’t helpful.

We needed somewhere to stay after a storm left us stranded on Highway 20 West, with power outages and other hotels booked. I’d reserved two rooms, but the website pictures were nothing like the place in person. One room smelled like something had died in it, and the other reeked of smoke despite my booking non-smoking rooms. The receptionist was rude when I complained, saying she couldn’t do anything except refund me, even though there was nowhere else available. Damaged beds had been propped up with rods, the walls were stained, doors wouldn’t close properly, and the stairs were falling apart. We had no vacancy alternatives and had to stay for one night so I could get to the airport the next day. I’ve stayed at a Motel 6 before, and it wasn’t nearly this bad. Very disappointed with the service and room quality. I wouldn’t recommend this place.

The key kept deactivating whenever we left the room, so we had to get it turned back on each time. Staff were rude throughout. The pillows smelled like sweat, and they’d left a dirty towel in the bathroom when we arrived the first night. They don’t clean the room, they just knock and ask if you want “clean towels.” Even those towels still had other people’s makeup on them. Absolutely gross.

I don’t get these reviews. The lobby was clean and the desk staff were excellent. We had the king room, and everything looked pristine when we walked in: king bed, sofa, and LOV floors. The bathroom and sheets were clean, and the AC was cold. Which rooms are other people staying in? I’d book again if I travel this way while visiting family on the way to NOLA. I attached photos to show how good it was.
